Quick Action Plan for Allergies

  1. The most common allergens are contactants, ingestants, inhalants, and injectants. Those allergic are often sensitive to more than one of these substances. Common symptoms of an allergic reaction are congested breathing, scratchy or watery eyes, sneezing, coughing, runny nose, hives, gas, and indigestion.
  2. Diet and lifestyle factors are the primary causes of allergy and sensitivity. If you suspect you may be suffering from them, it is best to be tested by a professional using either Applied Kinesiology; Electrodermal Screening (EDS); IgG ELISA (Enzyme-linked Immunoserological Assay), and Prick or Scratch Test.
  3. Prevention is the best form of medicine. Maintain a healthy diet that includes a wide variety of non-allergenic, fresh, organic fruits and vegetables, rich essential fatty acids, and low-fat, non-dairy animal protein. Eliminate potential allergens such as wheat and dairy, sugars, and foods high in saturated and hydrogenated fats.
  4. Stay well hydrated by drinking eight to twelve 8-oz. glasses of purified water daily.
  5. Check with your healthcare professional about The Elimination Diet, The Rotation Diet, or the Stone Age Diet.
  6. If your diet is good, consider doing a juice fast of organic, vegetable juices to help detoxify the body which will help you cope with allergies. Beet, carrot and cucumber, or carrot and celery are good combinations.
  7. For digestive issues, try digestive enzymes with meals such as pancreatic enzymes, hydrochloric acid, bromelain or papain. Zinc, vitamin A, vitamin P and other bioflavonoids are valuable. High doses of vitamin C may be useful as well as probiotics.
  8. Useful herbal remedies are goldenseal, red sage and goldenrod. Yarrow and myrrh reduce mucus, and echinacea, astragalus root, goldenseal root, and suma strengthen the immune system. Sprinkling liberal amounts of cayenne pepper on meals for a few days can provide relief. For gastrointestinal upsets, slippery elm bark, fenugreek or aloe vera can provide relief.
  9. Acupuncture can help build immunity.
  10. Aromatherapy, especially chamomile, lavender, and Melissa, relieve reactions and stress.
  11. Homeopathic remedies Ferrum phos, lycopodium, and silica can be useful.
  12. Allergy-proof your home; wash all bedding at least once a month. Remove synthetic carpets, rugs, and commercial stuffed animals. Keep all windows closed during peak allergy seasons and ban smoking inside the home.
  13. Ozone air purifiers can help with airborne allergens, and use a humidifier or dehumidifier, as needed.
  14. Engage in alternative therapies such as Enzyme-Potentiated Desensitzation (EPD), Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Technique (NAET), Biofeedback, Craniosacral Therapy, Orthomolecular Medicine, Oxygen Therapy, and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
