Are your supplements at risk?
Disastrous New Year Dietary Ingredients draft guidance threatens almost 30,000 supplements currently on the market in the US
The question is: Are you prepare to sit back and let this happen?
Well the Alliance for Natural Health International (ANH-Intl) is certainly not. The organization is an internationally active non-governmental body dedicated to promoting sustainable health and freedom of choice in healthcare through good science and good law, protecting the right of natural health practitioners to practise, and the right of consumers to choose the healthcare options they prefer.
It was founded in 2002 by Dr Robert Verkerk, an internationally acclaimed expert in sustainability. NaturalCures.com is proud to count Dr Verkerk as one of our expert contributors and authors.
Through its work in particularly in Europe and the USA, ANH-Intl operates a number of campaigns across a wide range of fields – including the restriction of mass fluoridation of water supplies and the use of genetically modified foods.
The EU has already adopted absurd limits on supplements – either banning them or allowing for sale only dosage strengths so low as to be completely ineffective.
The danger now is that the same thing will happen in the US because the FDA tends to follow the EU. In fact the current NDI draft guidance mirrors the EU’s Novel Food Regulation.
This means the FDA’s NDI guidance could restrict access to your favourite supplements. Even the thousands of supplements marketed prior to 1994 are in danger, as the FDA requires an unreasonable amount of evidence to prove an ingredient isn’t “new” (marketed after 1994.)
So it’s no surprise to us at NaturalCures.com to hear that ANH’s US branch is fighting the supplements’ legislation – and you can help.
Visit ANH now and see how you can play your part. Do you really want the FDA to tell you what you can and can’t put into your own body?
