The Depression Drug, Zoloft
The maker of the depression drug Zoloft is being sued after claims that it is no better than a dummy pill.
The case has been filed in the United States District Court or the Northern District of California, San Jose Division.
Laura Plumlee, is suing the drugs’ giant Pfizer Inc because she says that during the three years that she took the drug, she felt no better.
Her lawyer, R. Brent Wisner says the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) should not have approved Zoloft because Pfizer had not published some clinical trials which demonstrated that the medication was not significantly different to a placebo.
Pfizer is accused of marketing Zoloft (Sertraline hydrochloride) as a “highly effective treatment for depression”, while knowing that the medication was virtually indistinguishable from a sugar pill at best.
All of this reinforces NaturalCures’ view that drugs are not the answer.
