Acupuncture

Acupuncture originated in China over five thousand years ago. Acupuncture is based on the concept that chi (energy) circulates through the body along twelve major pathways, called meridians. Each meridian is linked to specific internal organs and organ systems. Very fine needles are inserted at precise points on the meridians just under the skin to stimulate, disperse and balance the flow of energy (chi), relieve pain and treat a variety of chronic, acute and degenerative conditions.

Acupuncturists may combine several other healing techniques in their treatments:

Moxibustion involves the burning of dried herbs near various points in order to activate chi and Yang.

Cupping uses glass or bamboo cups to intensify the treatment by creating suction on the skin above a painful muscle or acupuncture point.

NAET, (Nambudripad Allergy Elimiation Technique) is an effective treatment for eliminating all types of allergies.

Chinese herbs treat illness and imbalance in the body and are used by the most skilled Acupuncturists, typically those who are Doctors of Oriental Medicine.
