A bladder infection is a urinary tract infection that affects any part of the urinary tract. The most common type of bladder infection is often called cystitis. Cystitis is when a bladder is infected with bacteria.
Bladder infections can be caused by having a kidney infection. This infection can be serious. However, if treated quickly the kidney may not be damaged.
Although there is discomfort, in both cases infections requires prompt treatment.
If bacteria pass through the urethra it can get inside the bladder and cause intense infection.
To keep a check on symptoms, if you had it you would have a constant urge to visit the bathroom. When visiting the bathroom there would be a burning sensation and sometimes bladder spasms.
Other symptoms include foul smelling urine and a fever or nausea. Bladder infections and kidney infections can start with back pain above the waist area.
A medical doctor will prescribe antibiotic medication to relieve the pain in the bladder.
Antibiotics will bring pain relief in the bladder in about three days or more. In some cases there can be bad side effects. The overuse of antibiotics is unhealthy.
Herbal remedies and other natural medicine are able to bring pain relief and lower the level of pain.
Note: It is also important to help fight the infection by drinking plenty of water. Drinking plenty of water will partly help the bladder cleanse itself.
